Good morning!

Early morning view of a typical countryside! Its monsoon and the clouds are spanning the horizon vigorously. A milky white blanket of fog has covered the whole village. On the backdrop lies the twin forts: Chandan-Vandan!

Memecylon umbellatum

Memecylon umbellatum (or अंजनी in Marathi) is a beautiful tree found generally on the hills and in the evergreen forest.

Hanging Gardan!

When it becomes moist during the time of Monsoon, the branches old trees in the valleys of Rajgad fort become loaded with hanging moss! The moss flourish during this time and grow so beautifully in the branches that they form a garden - the hanging one!

Butterfly!

This beautiful butterfly was found near a small dam of Kawadi near Pune. This is actually a very common butterfly (Does anybody know the name?) ..

Beautiful flower

This small yellow flower was found near the Panshet Dam. I like the small pollens fallen on the petals of that tiny flower!

Camouflage

Did you see the crab there? This marvelously camouflaged creature is found on any beach. This shot was taken at Guhagar in the Konkan (western Maharashtra).

Good Morning

This picture was taken at Chikhaldara, a famous hill station in Vidarbha Region in central India.

Snake-wall!

This long wall is actually a fortified wall of Rajgad. In a nice monsoon time one gets this fantastic view on the "Suvela machi". This is the same place seen in our earlier post :Rajgad in clouds.

This is one of routes in the Pune university. I like it because the way in which it is covered with huge trees.

Solar Eclipse!

This was the latest partial solar eclipse (1st Aug 2008) as seen from Pune India. This was taken using a filter. NO software packages is used to enhance the image. The filter used is also made out of the material found in trash -- a floppy! I broke open a floppy and used the film inside as the filer!
